the illusion of infinity

I am fascinated by the spiral. The illusion of infinity, the endless circle. Nothing about it makes sense to my soul, and that alone is the cause of its perfection. In my Mind’s Eye, I see the ouroboros snakes tumbling down rocks, going round and round and round. Nothing can break its cycle. But the spiral is different, it doesn’t ever connect. It is abstract at its very core. Might I remind you it has no heart. Yet it is rooted into this earth, carrying that unidentifiable essence. What causes a dog to search for its own tail? Going round and round and round. Infinity taunts us, it plays with us, ever teasing. Watch poor Sisyphus again and again! It is both a punishment and our Saviour.
