alliteration is my ally

alliteration makes my skin tickle in a way nothing else does. using my tongue to trace the tuts and tears that the pen made onto the paper, rolling the r down the length of my mouth and letting it fall into the expectant air.

sometimes, i don’t know what to say and then remember i can say it softly, sounds slithering subtly into a sea of serpentine screams.

i need no thesaurus, only the pleasure of popping prayers from protruding lips and i know that it is right.

i need no other devices in any way poetic, for i’ve already personified the perfection of these angelic chords assembled as an artistic array of announcement.

alliteration is my ally, it stands over my shoulder and at its touch i shudder. sh, it shushes and i continue to scribble scratches onto silken paper.

without alliteration, my words wouldn’t work.
